CENTER FOR HUMAN NEUROSCIENCE & NEUROPSYCHOLOGY

Research programme in Neuropsychology and Neuropsychological Rehabilitation

The Psychology Department at Diego Portales University (Santiago, Chile) is seeking to appoint a full-time, open-rank, Professor to join our Center for Human Neuroscience and Neuropsychology.

The selected candidate will join a consolidated interdisciplinary team of researchers, with the goal of contributing to an ongoing research program in Neuropsychology and Neuropsychological Rehabilitation. It is also expected that the candidate will become involved in undergraduate and graduate teaching related to those same topics.

The successful candidate will apply to national and/or international funding in order to develop and maintain an extramurally-funded research program, publish scientific articles in high-impact journals and contribute to the training of new generations of professionals and researchers.

Summary:
Position: Full-time, open-rank professor (44 hours/week)

Location: Center for Human Neuroscience & Neuropsychology. Psychology Department, Diego Portales University, Vergara 275, Santiago de Chile

Starting date: August 2021
Salary: Dependent on placement on the core faculty salary scale according to academic categorization plus scientific production bonuses according to Diego Portales University research policy (e.g., medical and dental insurance, paid holidays, sick and vacation, life insurance, among others)

QUALIFICATIONS and APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
– Bachelor degree (or similar) in Psychology
– Ph.D. in Psychology, Neuropsychology, Neuroscience or related disciplines
– Research experience in Neuropsychology, Neuropsychological Rehabilitation and/or Human Neuroscience
– Experience as a researcher in projects funded by competitive research grants. – Five or more publications in indexed journal (WOS) during the last 5 years.
– Teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate level
– Post-doctoral experience highly desirable (not mandatory)
– Highly desirable knowledge and/or training in Neuropsychology and Clinical Neuropsychology (not mandatory)
– Highly desirable clinical or research experience with neurological populations, particularly acquired brain injury (not mandatory).

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Engagement in Student Learning:
– Teaching four (4) courses per year. At least two (2) of these have to be taught in the undergraduate program in Psychology at UDP.
– Serving as a mentor for students in research and/or clinical neuropsychology training
– Active participation within the Doctoral Program in Psychology (i.e. committees, mentoring)
Engagement in Scholarship and Creative Work:
– Conducting scholarly work in the form of academic research
– Obtaining national and/or international research funding
– Publication of two (2) peer-reviewed scientific articles in high-impact journals (e.g., Web of Science (WoS)) per year
Engagement in Institutional Citizenship:
– Becoming an active member of the Center for Human Neuroscience & Neuropsychology, contributing to each dimension including activity in the Clinical Neuropsychology Unit
– Participation in departmental activities and initiatives (e.g., special events, committees, meetings)
